Kirihara Station
A small station in Kirihara. On the morning of the heavy fog, Koyoi speaks with the ticket clerk Seizo before following the fence toward the old man who changes the course of his life.
Koyoi's House (Exterior)
The Kirihara home shared by Koyoi and his mother. Beyond its entrance, heavy fog erases the outlines of signposts, roofs, and the road into town.
Koyoi's House (Interior)
A wooden interior filled with the sound of Koyoi's mother at the chopping board and the smell of miso. Against the white fog outside, it preserves the warmth of ordinary life.
Boundary Village Street
A village street beyond the First Boundary. Its people know the work of Gatherers and give shelter to Koyoi when the Observers pursue him.
Boundary Village Panorama
The Boundary Village seen from the hill, with homes that shelter travelers and altars where fading gods can be returned to their proper places.
Hokora Shrine
A small shrine found beyond forest paths and roads. Shrines can be where Koyoi discovers fading gods, and where the gods in his pouch are finally returned.
Mountain Pass Tea House (Exterior)
An old tea house where Koyoi and Asahi stop along a rain-soaked mountain road, dry their travel gear, and prepare for the next stretch of the journey.
Mountain Pass Tea House (Interior)
Inside, hearth fire and steam restore travelers chilled by rain and mud, offering a brief shelter from the disturbances beyond the walls.
Fog Train (Exterior)
A train linking stations through the fog. Its rails continue underground and into zones of fixation, carrying three boys and a cat through the final stages of their journey.
Fog Train (Interior)
The wooden interior of the fog train. Kuon opens his ledger, Asahi keeps his sword close, and Otama moves freely between the three companions.
Water Channel
A waterway in Kirihara where Koyoi hears a voice and finds a god sinking below the surface. As the god enters his pouch, the water begins to recover its natural flow.
Fog Landscape
White fog that cuts away the outlines of signposts, houses, and people. It absorbs sound and blurs distance and boundaries, linking the opening of the story to its final journey.
